We're proud to partner with Chatham Reads for their community projects!

Chatham Reads is a partnership led by Chatham County Schools and the Chatham Education Foundation partnering with other local community organizations to bring awareness of literacy to the community.

The mission of Chatham Reads is to foster community partnerships that are dedicated to ensuring that literacy and reading resources are accessible to all Chatham County residents. The foundation joined the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading in 2017 which works to ensure that children are reading at or beyond grade-level by the end of 3rd grade.

McIntyre's collects new books for donation to Chatham Reads year-round, with a special focus on the Books on Break program, holiday book drives, and new initiatives.

This summer Chatham Reads is partnering with CORA to create a space for families to read and play in the newly expanded CORA pantry and warehouse buildings. For this program Chatham Reads is seeking books for ages birth-12 to engage and entertain children while parents grocery shop, and for families to take home to read and enjoy together. Board books and bilingual books are especially needed!
