A Regal House Publishing Showcase featuring Jaynie Royal, Mimi Herman and Culley Holderfield
Join us for a publisher’s showcase featuring Regal House, a traditional independent press located in Raleigh, NC.
Jaynie Royal, the founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief, will be joined by two Regal House authors: Mimi Herman and Culley Holderfield.
Mimi Herman is the author of The Kudzu Queen, A Field Guide to Human Emotions, Logophilia and The Art of Learning. Her writing has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, The Carolina Quarterly, Shenandoah, Crab Orchard Review, The Hollins Critic, Prime Number Magazine and other journals. She has performed her poetry and fiction at numerous venues, including Why There Are Words in Sausalito, Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh and Symphony Space in New York City. Mimi is a Kennedy Center teaching artist and co-director of Writeaways writing workshops in France, Italy, New Mexico, Ireland and online. She served as the 2017 North Carolina Piedmont Laureate, and as an associate editor for Teaching Artist Journal. Mimi holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson. Culley Holderfield learned to love stories on the front porch of a cabin in a hollow in Western North Carolina. After completing his studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, he found his way to South America and later to Africa and Europe. When not writing or working in community development finance, he spends his time tromping through woods and paddling rivers. His short stories and poetry have appeared in a variety of publications. Hemlock Hollow is his debut novel. He lives in Durham, NC.
